Team USC Improvement Awards

Each year, Team USC teachers look at the 6th grade GPAs (Grade Point Average) of the incoming 7th graders. Then, we review the GPA of each student at the end of T1 (First Trimester). This year, we have the highest number of years of students who improved their 7th grade GPA when compared with the 6th grade GPA. 83% of our 145 students improved their GPA in T1!

Below are the awards we presented at the end of T1. The Bronze Award is for those who improved their GPA from .1-.5 points. The Silver Award is for those who improved their GPA from .51-1.0 points. Improving a GPA 1.0 points is improving the GPA a full letter grade (i.e. from 1.8 or a D+ to a 2.8 or a C+). The Gold Award is for those who GPA improved more than 1 points or one full letter grade! We also gave the 4.0 Award for those who earned a GPA of 4.0 or a letter grade of A+!

Out of 145 students, only 7 students have a GPA of 1.9 or lower which is a D or an F. Despite these high improvements in grades, we know that to maintain these improvements, all students need to work hard as we enter this 2nd trimester!
