Final Geography Quiz

What we learned this year...

We started studying geography the first week of school. We started with major parts of the world. Then, as we studied different units such as the Roman Empire in Europe, Islam which spread in Asia and Africa, and our learning knowledge about the Inca, Aztec and Maya empires in the Americas, we reviewed the geography of these regions. Our geography included the names and locations of countries and bodies of water in society today. Our final geography quiz at the end of the year included a list of 149 locations around the world. Below are the maps we used for our final quiz:

I first started giving these quizzes about 6 years ago. In the first year, students had to get only 60 countries out of 120 correct to get an A. So many students earned an A that I raised the number correct by 10 each year. And the number of As continues to grow. So in the June, 2018 quiz, students had to get 120 correct out of 149 to earn an A. In last year's quiz, students had to get 110 correct...78% of the students earned an A!
